ABC is Casting for Supernanny and Wife SwapTake the Family on Reality Television With These Hit Shows
Have you always wanted to be a reality television star? ABC is offering casting opportunities for families, with their hit shows Wife Swap and Supernanny.
The reality television craze is still going strong on American TV, and many people want to experience it for themselves. For families who are brave enough to experience reality television together, ABC is currently casting for two very different shows. Both Supernanny and Wife Swap need contestants for upcoming seasons. Both shows have become smash hits in the seasons that they have aired. Supernanny Jo Frost Helps Families in CrisisThis British reality show came to America and became a huge success. Supernanny Jo Frost goes to the homes of out-of-control families and helps the parents instill order and discipline their children. Frost is a professional nanny who has written several books on child care. The show is open to all types of families who need help. Frost has the following to say about contestants of the show: "Our program welcomes all kinds of families to apply to be on the show. Single parents, straight and gay parents, all ethnicities and income levels are invited. Whether you're a younger or older parent, divorced or married I find that the challenges facing parents today are universal -- children need love, nurturing and stimulation, but they also need boundaries, discipline, structure and consistency." The application and eligibility requirements can be found online as a .pdf file. Completed applications can be faxed to 1-323-904-4681. There is also a toll-free number available for potential candidates to call, 1-877-NANNY-TIME (877-626-6984). Wife Swap to Experience Reality TVWife Swap is a way for families to experience each other’s lives and broaden their horizons. Two families, each with a mother, father, and children, swap wives and see what happens. Families with opposite values and lifestyles are paired up. The trade lasts for two weeks. During the first week, the wife follows the rules and roles of the family. During the second week, she gets to change the rules of the house and show the family how she expects things to run. After the filming ends, the two couples meet for conversation and dinner. This sometimes results in mutual understanding, but sometimes leads to fights. An application for Wife Swap is available online as a Microsoft Word document. Submit the application via email or snail mail. The addresses are both located at the bottom of the application forms, below the eligibility requirements. Keep an eye on ABC.com for more information about future castings. The station is always looking for new contestants on shows like The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. Information is also available for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Wipeout, Dating in the Dark, and Shark Tank.
