A Single Dad Looks for Love Among 25 Bachelorettes

ABC’s hit reality series, The Bachelor, returns for its 13th season with a familiar face. During the fourth season of The Bachelorette, contestant Jason Mesnick was rejected in the final episode. In the tradition of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, the previous runner up gets a new chance at love by starring in the next season.
The Bachelor Concept
One man and twenty-five single women appear on each season of The Bachelor. The man gets to know all the women through a series of dates. In each episode, one or more of the women is asked to leave. The remaining few women are taken on overnight dates as they meet each other’s families. During the final episode, one woman is chosen as the winner. Some of the bachelor’s may propose while others just ask to keep seeing her.
The elimination ceremony is known as the rose ceremony. The bachelor gives each woman who he wants to continue seeing a rose, and any women who do not receive one are eliminated. The women also have the opportunity to leave at any point during the show if they do not feel a connection with the star.
The Bachelor: Jason Mesnick
During season four of The Bachelorette, many viewers were shocked when Jason Mesnick was rejected in the final episode. However, this Ohio account executive has returned for a chance to meet 25 new women. Mesnick was divorced in 2006 and is raising his three year-old son, Ty. He is the first single dad to ever appear on the show and is looking to expand his small family.
Rumor has it that Mesnick did find what he was looking for during this season and is happily in love. However, confidentiality agreements are keeping more details tightly under wrap.
Host Chris Harrison
Chris Harrison has returned to host this season of The Bachelor. He has currently hosted every season of the show, as well as several other television shows. In 2008, he hosted the pre-show for the American Music Awards. He has acted in several popular television shows and movies as well. Harrison is married and has two children.
This Season's 25 Single Women
This season brings 25 new, single women to meet Mesnick and see if they can find a connection. The diverse group ranges in age from 23 to 36. Flight attendants, teachers, and executives have all come to meet this nice guy and see if they can find a connection. The group of bachelorettes also includes one single mother.
The new season of The Bachelor begins on Monday, January 5th. Catch it on ABC at 8 PM.
