America's Next Top Model ReturnsNext Season of ANTM Launches with Transgendered ContestantAfter 10 seasons of America's Next Top Model, Tyra Banks hasn't exhausted all of America's Top Models, controversies and fierceness.
The last season of America's Next Top Model (ANTM) viewers saw Tyra Banks and the ANTM panel crown full figured model Whitney as America's Next Top Model. Whitney was the first ever full figured model to get pass the sixth week of the competition, which came as a surprise to some. Rumors and spoilers are surrounding season eleven of ANTM, like this might be Banks' last season as host. According to the gossip blogs Banks, who hosts and produces the show, is having problems with Creative Director Jay Manuel. This however is just a rumor, nothing is confirmed. The ten seasons of ANTM has produced countless careers for the participants. Modelling contracts with top agencies across the world, fashions shows with top designers, television commercials and programs and photo spreads in major magazines. In 2008 Italy's Vogue released its all Black model edition where Toccara, from ANTM season three, had her own photo spread. Toccara is one of the most successful models to come from ANTM, the full figured model was elminated because she had lost her "spark." On September 3,2008 CW will unveil the eleventh season of ANTM, in a 2 hour premeire showing fourteen models. According to Bossip, the black celebrity entertainment blog, one contestant is Isis, a 22-year-old transgendered person from New York City. GLAAD praised the casting move, calling it “an unprecedented opportunity for a community that is underrepresented on television.” Other spoilers circulating on the internet is that the models are going to Amsterdam this year for the last weeks of the show. ANTM is not the only fall season draw for the CW, the channel is releasing that week the return of Beverly Hills 90210 and new seasons of Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill. The return of 90210 would hopefully bring back the success the show had in the 90's, that formed the generation. It is from 90210 that shows like MTV's The Hills, and the O.C. have a base for their popularity. The new season of Gossip Girl has created controversy of its own with the shows advertisments for the 2008 Fall season. The ads were called racy and was said to promote sex to teenagers. America's Next Top Model, might be transgendered or might be full figured only time will tell. Every Wednesday for the next 13 weeks viewers can wait an see if a first will be made again.
