Fan Favorite Reality Show Needs Girls in the Los Angeles Area

Bravo's reality series Sheer Genius pits 12 stylists against each other for a $100,000 prize. Season 3 is currently casting and looking for hair models.

Sheer Genius is a reality television series that has aired on Bravo for two seasons. The show is back to cast for a third season. Along with stylists, Sheer Genius 3 also needs to cast hair models who are willing to put their hair in the hands of the contestants.

Sheer Genius takes reality TV into the salon with host Jaclyn Smith. Twelve stylists from around the country compete for a $100,000 grand prize. Kim Vo and Kelly Atterton were judges for the second season, while Rene Fris acts as the mentor to the stylists.

Each episode features a “Shortcut Challenge” that tests the stylists’ technical skills, followed by an Elimination Challenge. In this challenge, each stylist must do the hair of a client or model that is assigned to them. The stylist must create a look based on the criteria that is given to them, and stay within the time allowed. Each week, after a runway show for the judges, one stylist is eliminated.

Requirements For Hair Models

Sheer Genius 3 hair models must be based in the Los Angeles area or be willing to travel for filming of the show. Models will only have one to two days notice before they are needed, so it is important that all applicants have a flexible schedule. Having an attractive face is an important factor in being cast as a hair model.

The most important element in a hair model is that they are willing to let the stylist have free reign with their hair. Applicants must be open to new cuts and colors. Hair must be at least shoulder length to be eligible for this casting, preferably with a very simple style. Sheer Genius stylists need girls who are a blank canvas for new looks.

The Casting Duo, Randy Bernstein and Danielle Harrington, have been the Supervising Casting Directors for many of Bravo’s reality shows. I would love to be a hair model, but what would you consider an attractive face? What one person thinks is nice maybe another will not.
I think take real people with real hair and skin and let sheer genius really do there magic. My hair has become dry and damage over time, from cancer and medication, no matter what kind of hair cut I get it's not good. It always looks beautiful when I leave the salon but try and work with it at home and have it look smooth and silky another story. To me that is a real challenge.
