This week, Holly Madison announced that she is leaving her job at Playboy Magazine to move to Las Vegas to be with her boyfriend Criss Angel. What will Hefners ex do now?

Holly Madison of The Girls Next Door posted a controversial Myspace blog where she announced to her friends and fans that she had left her junior photo editor position at Playboy Magazine. The announcement, seemingly out of the blue, comes as she has been seen spending more of her time in Las Vegas with boyfriend illusionist Criss Angel and when controversy over the future of The Girls Next Door brand has come front and center.

Why Holly Quit Playboy Magazine Job

According to her Myspace blog, Holly quit the magazine for many different reasons, including:

  1. Because it was awkward: Madison writes in her blog that working closely with her ex, Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner was just plain awkward. Her choice to quit in part involved not wanting to see her ex all the time.
  2. Not challenging: She also stated that she no longer found her job shooting pictorials for the Playboy centerfold and discovering new girls for the magazine, a challenge. She says the job became "routine."
  3. Didn't pay enough: Part of the decision to leave her job was also about the money. She says in her blog that she worked more than full-time retouching, shooting, editing layouts, but that she was passionate about it when she and Hugh Hefner where still together. She says her Girls Next Door salary was her real cash-cow and that the Playboy photo-editor job was just icing on the cake. With the Girls Next Door Season 6 up in the air, she says the pay was not worth the work she put in.
  4. Moved to Las Vegas. With her new relationship heating up - Holly wanted to be closer to her new guy, Criss Angel.

Will Holly get a New Job?

When Holly first announced she was breaking it off with Hef, she sounded confident that The Girls Next Door would have a Season 6. Unfortunately, this has all gone down hill with recent drama between Hef and his ex-girlfriends, including the trading of insults between Holly and Hef, Kendra announcing that she cheated on Hef and Bridget leaving to explore new opportunities, it seems unlikely that we will see 'The Girls' as a threesome again anytime soon.

While Bridget has several opportunities in the works, including the premier of her new horror film The Telling, a travel show called Bridget's Beaches and television, film and radio projects, Holly does not have much outside of her skills at Playboy.

Even Kendra, who will be starring in her own reality television show on E! has opportunities ahead. For Holly, only time will tell what will happen after The Girls Next Door Season 5 has ended.

Choosing Love over Money

In the end, although Holly was passionate about Playboy - she seemed to be the most passionate when she was involved with its creator, Hugh Hefner. Her move to Las Vegas means that she will be able to devote more time to her relationship with illusionist Criss Angel.
