Meet The Rumored Women of Survivor 20Jerri, Stephenie, Amanda, and Sugar Among The All-Stars to Compete
Premiering in February 2010, Survivor's twentieth edition will feature some of the best players and most memorable characters reunited in a tenth-anniversary special.
On August 10, 2009, the poster survivor300 on the Survivor Sucks discussion site divulged a list of 18 former contestants rumored to be on the upcoming All-Stars edition of the CBS smash-hit Survivor. Almost a month later, additional information has emerged to support his list and two names have been added by reliable posters to round out the cast. According to the speculated list, the women of Survivor 20 are a young group with the oldest just 39. It seems that looking hot in a bathing suit was more important than personality and notoriety, as bigger characters like Australia winner Tina Wesson and Vanuatu's runner-up Twila Tanner missed the cut while relative unknowns like Candice Woodcock and Danielle DiLorenzo were cast in the upcoming season. Let’s meet the women speculated to be on Survivor 20: Jerri Manthey, Australia/ All-Stars:Nearly nine years after Survivor: Australia aired, 39 year-old Jerri Manthey remains one of Survivor’s biggest names and has been called one of the greatest villains in television history. In the first All-Stars season, she continued to get on her tribemates’ nerves and was even booed off the stage at the Reunion show. But now that Manthey is nearly 40 years old, will she bring a more mature perspective to the game? Sandra Diaz-Twine, Pearl Islands:Without a doubt the most outspoken of the winners, 35 year-old Sandra Diaz-Twine was a memorable personality who gained popularity as Rupert’s sidekick and Johnny Fairplay’s nemesis. She pioneered the “as long as it’s not me” strategy and voted out whoever she had to in order to get to the end. Will her status as a former winner make her an early target or will her unthreatening nature allow her to progress deep into the game? Stephenie LaGrossa, Palau/ Guatemala:One of Survivor’s most compelling characters, 29 year-old Stephenie LaGrossa transitioned from America’s sweetheart to a hardcore player and villain in her back-to-back stints on Survivor: Palau and Guatemala. She gained popularity as the last remaining member of the Ulong tribe in Palau, but in Guatemala, she betrayed almost everyone on the jury, losing their votes in the end. Will she be a hero or a villain the third time around? Danielle DiLorenzo, Exile Island:Twenty-eight year-old Danielle DiLorenzo appears to fill the role of the attractive but relatively unknown female that Amber and Parvati filled in All-Stars and Fans vs. Favorites, respectively. Finishing second place in Exile Island, Danielle was a well-rounded player who performed reasonably well in all aspects of the game, but had little impact on her season. Her apparent inclusion in this All-Stars season is surprising considering that host Jeff Probst called her a “casting mistake.” Cirie Fields, Exile Island/ Micronesia:Coming into the game as a woman who feared leaves, 39 year-old Cirie Fields evolved tremendously over her time on Survivor: Exile Island and Micronesia, and proved herself to be one of the strongest social players the game has ever seen. She just missed out on the final Tribal Council in both seasons, finishing fourth in Exile Island and third in Micronesia. If not for an injury that shifted the game's format at the last minute, she would have made the finals and, according to her tribemates and Jeff Probst, won Micronesia in a landslide. Maybe the third time will be the charm. Parvati Shallow, Cook Islands/ Micronesia:Seen as little more than “the flirt” in Survivor: Cook Islands, 27 year-old Parvati stepped up her game in Micronesia and helped create a powerful female alliance that took her to the top. Although she claimed she would never do the show again after Micronesia, it appears she’s back for a third time. She proved herself as a strong social player, so if she wants to last long again, she’ll have to bring a whole new bag of tricks. Candice Woodcock, Cook Islands:Twenty-seven year-old Candice Woodcock shook up the game when she mutinied from the Aitu tribe to be with her friends on Raro. She also was thrust into the spotlight when fellow contestant Billy believed he had a love connection with her in the second episode. While she may not be as memorable several seasons later, she definitely brought a competitive edge to the game and was willing to make strategic moves. Amanda Kimmel, China/ Micronesia:Perhaps best known for her “doe eyes,” 25 year-old Amanda Kimmel is the only castaway in Survivor history to make it to the final Tribal Council twice and lose both times. She finished in third place in Survivor: China and second place in Survivor: Micronesia after giving poor jury performances in both seasons and not owning up to her strategic decisions. Will she make it to the finals a third time and if so, will she finally be able to convince the jury that she’s worthy of a win? Courtney Yates, China:Twenty-eight year-old Courtney Yates was recruited to be on Survivor: China and, in many ways, didn’t know what she was getting into or even want to be there in the first place. Still, she got into the right alliance with Todd and Amanda that helped her survive until the Final Three and ultimately finish in second place. Her brash personality and dry wit made her one of the standouts of the season, and although some fans loved her and others hated her, she showed that the smallest and least athletic can make it to the end. Jessica “Sugar” Kiper, Gabon:Thirty year-old Jessica “Sugar” Kiper played a strong strategic game in Survivor: Gabon, but in post-show interviews, she revealed that she wasn’t trying to win. Instead, she wanted to appear as the sweetheart to further her acting career. Despite being a fan favorite, she was disliked by the jury and didn’t receive a single vote.
