Paris Hilton Looks for BFF in the U.K.

It’s Paris Hilton’s 28th birthday today and the celebutante is as busy as ever shilling herself in North America and around the globe.
MuchMusic selected the auspicious occasion to announce today that it and the specialty channel and Star! will air a second season of Hilton’s quest to find the best gal pal in Paris Hilton’s British Best Friend.
It must be really hard work to be heir to a fortune. And as Hilton has proven time and time again money does not buy happiness.
Paris Gets Around
As MuchMusic points out in its press release, Hilton has had suffered at the hands of previous BFF (best friends forever) in Hollywood so she’s kicking that town to the curb and going to the U.K. to fill her void with a new best friend.
The ambitious hopefuls range from a pole dancer (Ed. Note: this could very well be the winner as she is likely to have so much in common with Hilton – skanky, cheap, attention-seeking); to a pop star reject (alarm bells and Suite101 hasn’t yet seen the pilot); nightclub DJ; to a trust-fund baby, and they all want a piece of Hilton.
Tears, Tantrums, Tests of Loyalty
The 11 British women and one man, all star wannabes join Hilton in London and fight bleached tooth and French-manicured nail to claw it out in hopes of becoming Hilton’s new overseas companion of choice. There is no love lost between the members of the group as they vie for Hilton’s affection and the ultimate “hot” seal of approval. “Expect tears, tantrums, tests of loyalty, and a Hollywood makeover before someone is deemed worthy enough to be considered Paris ’ newest mate,” MuchMusic says.
Here’s what the winner gets: an all-access pass into the exciting red carpet life of Hilton, including the hottest exclusive parties, celebrities, and oh so much more. And of course, the bragging right of being Hilton’s BFF – for however many minutes the friendship lasts.
Paris Flame Out in London
The series has bombed in the U.K. where it airs on ITV. The premiere episode attracted less than 500,000 viewers
The winner might take notes from Brittany Flickinger who was crowned BFF during the first run of the show in the fall of 2008. Reports of fighting between Hilton and Flickinger have dogged the pair.
No word on whether Hilton will reprise her sign-off “TTYN” (text for “talk to you never” which she used voraciously during episodes of Paris Hilton: My New BFF.
Paris Hilton's British Best Friend premieres on Star! and MuchMusic on March 1 at 8 p.m. ET.
