Megan Wants a Millionaire is canceled after Ryan Jenkins allegedly murdered model Jasmine Fiore. He's later found dead of apparent suicide in a Canada hotel room.

By most accounts, 32-year-old Ryan Alexander Jenkins had a lot going for him. He was a millionaire real estate developer with a reported net worth of $2.5 million. Ryan Jenkins was a cast member on two VH1 reality shows, Megan Wants a Millionaire, and on I Love Money 3.

But life unraveled for Jenkins when his ex-wife, 28-year-old model Jasmine Fiore was murdered, her mutilated body found in a trash bin behind an apartment complex in the Los Angeles area on August 15, 2009. Just over a week later, on August 23, 2009, Jenkins was found dead in a Canadian hotel room. Police say Ryan Jenkins hanged himself.

Jasmine Fiore's Murder and the Search for Ryan Jenkins

Jenkins and Fiore reportedly married in a Las Vegas wedding in March, 2009, shortly after the filming of Megan Wants a Millionaire concluded. According to reports from the Associated Press, Jenkins was charged with battery constituting domestic violence — a misdemeanor crime — after he allegedly hit Fiore in June 2009.

Ryan Jenkins and Jasmine Fiore were reportedly captured on video surveillance footage checking into a Los Angeles area hotel on August 13, 2009. Jenkins checked out the next morning, but Fiore was never seen alive again. Fiore's body was found in a trash dumpster on August 15, 2009. Police say her teeth were pulled out and her finger tips were cut off to delay her identification. Ultimately, Jasmine Fiore's body was identified by her breast implant serial numbers.

Immediately after Jasmine Fiore's murder was discovered, police announced that they were seeking Jenkins, described as a "person of interest," until August 20, 2009, when an arrest warrant was issued for Jenkins on charges of first degree murder. But Jenkins was nowhere to be found.

Police believe Jenkins drove to Washington state, where he boarded his boat, later found at a marina near the Canadian border; it's believed Jenkins walked over the border into Canada. On Sunday, August 23, 2009, reality television star and suspected murderer Ryan Jenkins was found dead of an apparent suicide in a hotel room in Hope, British Columbia, near Vancouver, Canada. The Associated Press is reporting that Jenkins hanged himself.

Ryan Jenkins on Megan Wants a Millionaire and I Love Money 3

Ryan Jenkins was one of the rich bachelors who appeared on the VH1 reality show, Megan Wants a Millionaire, vying for the affections of aspiring trophy wife Megan Hauserman. Megan Wants a Millionaire was canceled after just three episodes, following the announcement that Jenkins' ex-wife was found murdered.

It's unclear how far Jenkins got on Megan Wants a Millionaire and the world may never know who won the show. It also appears that the world will never get to see I Love Money 3 either; it was set to air in January 2010. VH1 decided to cancel I Love Money 3, as Jenkins was also a cast member on the spin-off show featuring VH1 reality stars competing for $250,000.

VH1 released the following statement on the decision to cancel Megan Wants a Millionaire and I Love Money 3:

"Ryan Jenkins was a contestant on Megan Wants A Millionaire, an outside production, produced and owned by 51 Minds, that is licensed to VH1. The show completed production at the end of March. Given the unfortunate circumstances, VH1 has postponed any future airings. This is a tragic situation and our thoughts go out to the victim’s family."

In an update to the post, VH1 announced, "We’re sad to announce that both Megan Wants a Millionaire and I Love Money 3 officially have been canceled."

Why cancel the airing of the 2 reality shows we have all been looking forward to seeing?! It's a really lame reason! Ryan Jenkins is already dead! What's the big deal?! For the sake of maintaining millions of fans, VH1 should change their decision & air these shows. They can even re-do I love Money 3 without Ryan...
Many fans will eventually boycott VH1 if they don't bring these shows back!

Have a little compassion for Jasmine's family and friends...out of respect for them I would say it is in VH1's best interest not to air the two shows and give Ryan Jenkin's anymore of the spotlight...this man does not deserve any more attention...even if it is negative!
