Bob Harper, Jillian Michaels, and Alison Sweeney return for a seventh season of the NBC show The Biggest Loser. The ranch will host eleven new teams this season.

During the finale of the sixth season of NBC’s reality hit The Biggest Loser, a teaser was aired for the seventh season, which begins this January. The Biggest Loser: Couples returns with eleven new teams that weigh in at over 3.5 tons. Host Alison Sweeney returns for her fourth season overseeing the contestants’ journey and issuing challenges.

The Biggest Loser Trainers Return

Trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels both return for another season of The Biggest Loser. Bob is a Los Angeles personal trainer to the stars and has appeared on every American season of The Biggest Loser, as well as several seasons of the Australian version of the show. Jillian also lives in Los Angeles, and trains clients in a style that utilizes her martial arts background. Unlike Bob, Jillian struggled with her weight at a young age. This challenge ultimately motivated her to want to help others regain their health.

With a member of Jillian’s black team, Michelle Aguilar, declared the winner in the season six finale, Bob may be out for blood once again. Bob has never had one of his contestants win when Jillian was training a team. The closest that he came was season five, because winner Ali Vincent worked with both trainers during the course of the show.

The Biggest Loser: Couples 2 Teams

This season’s contestants feature several Biggest Loser records - the oldest team, the youngest player, the largest woman, and the largest player to ever make it to the ranch. The new white team, Estella and Jerry Hayes, are taking this journey at 63 years of age. These grandparents are a retired couple from Chicago. During the NBC teaser, a scene is played showing Jerry collapsing in the gym.

This season’s gray team features best friends Carla Triplett and Joelle Gwynn from Southfield, Michigan. Carla is the heaviest woman to be featured on The Biggest Loser, with a starting weight of 379 pounds. Meanwhile, 19 year-old Daniel Wright tips the scales as the heaviest player to ever come on the show. His starting weight is 454 pounds and he is competing with his best friend, David Lee. Daniel earns applause during the first weigh-in by commenting that he hopes to set the record for the biggest loss as well.

The last record-breaking team is the brown team. Father Ron Morelli is competing with his son Mike, who is only 18 years old. The team also hails from the Detroit area. Ron is a city councilman while Mike is a student.

The Biggest Loser: Couples 2 begins airing on January 6, 2009 on NBC. Keep an eye on The Biggest Loser official website for sneak previews, photos, and updated information and check out the Biggest Loser: Couples cast profiles.
