Lovebirds Join Forces in the Kitchen
In Episode 9: Restaurant Wars, probably one of the most anticipated shows of the Top Chef season, the chefs where asked to make a dish in a quickfire challenge that would impress the judge, Stephen Starr of Starr restaurants.
In the challenge, we learn that Leah is half Filipino and uses her heritage to her advantage to make a fabulous dish.
Starr, a discriminating judge, loved Leah and Radhika's dishes. The two became the team leaders for the restaurant challenge. One at a time - each cheftestan chose their teammates. Leah's first choice? Hosea.
In the episode interviews Stefan - the "Fabulous Finn" said, "It doesn't surprise me, Hosea and Leah are friends and she is picking friends before business."
However, that night - Leah and Hosea became more than 'just friends.'
After Hours Couch Cuddling
After the teams where settled Leah and Hosea stayed up late to talk about the restaurant menu. An exhausted Hosea and Leah bunker down in their New York loft's couch - together. Cuddled up side-by-side Leah says, "I like, want to sleep right here," as she puts an arm around Hosea.
Though it is hard to make out what the pair are doing on the couch - sound effects leave little the imagination. The two have obviously started kissing!!
The Morning After
In an interview for the episode, Hosea says that he and Leah have "chemistry" but that he has a girlfriend he loves and can't let that chemistry turn into anything. Apparently, he let that one hook up session slip by!
- Hosea: The next morning - the situation in the house is obviously tense. Hosea tells Top Chef interviewers that he regrets the kiss and that he loves his girlfriend and hopes to go home to her.
- Leah: Leah knows she made a mistake - big time. Obviously still tired from the evening before she seems a bit more upset by the prospect of having no boyfriend to go home to. She says, "I have a boyfriend who I would really like to be with after this whole thing, which is probably not gonna happen and that's great."
The Future of Top Chef's Top Couple
Despite the kiss - Leah still claims that she and Hosea are not romantically involved at all. On the show, she says she felt "really weird" about the whole situation. Although her team won the challenge, it is a pretty sure bet that Hosea and Leah both lost that day. Only time will tell if this is the end of the Leah/Hosea 'Top Couple' on Top Chef or if this is just the beginning of romance that lasts after the kitchen closes.
